Footings: All footings are concrete, formed and poured on site. Sauna tube collars are used on sloped hillsides.
Hangers and Connectors: To be Simpson Strong - tie made with galvanized steel.
40 Year Frame: All framing to be pressure treated lumber with a 40 year guarantee against decay or termites. (Douglas Fir used in Central Oregon unless otherwise specified.)
Structure: Beam and joist spans engineered to meet or exceed all UBC building code standards.
Stair Systems: All systems are built with a minimum of 3 support stringers (stair jacks). Separate concrete footings are designed for all stairs that land on grass or other landscaped areas.
Rail Systems: Standard rail systems are constructed of cedar unless otherwise specified. Inside mounted systems are blocked and bolted to pass all building codes in all jurisdictions. Metal systems to be top mounted or side mounted depending on design.
Nailing: Decks are hand nailed for superior appearance. Our nails are designed specifically for decking boards. Constructed from square wire with a twisted shaft, they actually spiral into the wood like a screw.
Screws: Screws for specific applications are desirable and available upon request. Color matched screws for composite decking are also available upon request.
Hand Selected: All finish materials are hand selected by our craftsmen.
Decking: Deck joints are randomly run and hand rasped to a 1/8" beveled end.
Seamed Decking: Often the deck design permits us to split the deck into two or more sections by the use of a seam board. This enables the use of full length decking boards. We offer this free of charge when possible.
Fascia Trim: Decks and benches are trimmed with mitered fascia boards to conceal end cuts.
Job Site: To be cleaned up daily with all debris hauled away after completion of job. |
